Poteriocrinites crassus
(Dorsal Cup)
|
| Sub-class: |
Inadunata |
| Order: |
Cladoidea |
| Sub-order: |
Dendrocrinoidea |
| Family: |
Poteriocrinitidae |
The cup is usually conical with 5 infrabasals visible in side view. In no other genus is there found so much confusion as in Poteriocrinites. This is partly due to the imperfect preservation of specimens. Nevertheless Poteriocrinites is distinctive particularly because of the fixed and wavy appearance of the cup and the large round column facet to which some of the proximal columnals are sometimes attached.
Found in Coplow, Bellman and Salthill Quarries.
